Maisey's Story

Maisey is the most endearing older lady. She is quiet and dignified and a great companion to have around the house.

She was previously abandoned and living in a vacant lot for at least a year before coming back indoors. It took some time to build up her trust but now she has learned the routines. She jumps up on my bed every morning and purrs to wake me up for breakfast time. She sometimes tries to meow but it is mostly just opening her mouth and a tiny quack sound comes out. She still plays with catnip toys like a young kitten at times, but mostly enjoys finding a soft warm spot to nap in.

She doesn't mind some other cats but overall is more introverted. She was overwhelmed by young kittens trying to play with her too much or surprising her in her space, where she will hiss and go into the other room to get her personal space. But she will rub against other older cats before meals while waiting patiently for her food.

She would do best in a quiet low traffic home, with someone patient who could take things at a slow pace to build trust with her, be accepting of her past trauma and give her the best life she deserves!

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

Adoption application form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScL9xXZTcLG4mxXoZiOBU9CrO5Nhzn14-vPTFsAZUcuIw1WKQ/viewform
