Magnus's Story
Magnus's story didn't start out very hopeful. At around 5-6 weeks old, we received a video of a tiny, tabby kitten living on the edge of some woods who'd been seen by a Good Samaritan. He was dragging his rear right leg with absolutely no ability to use it. He was meowing out to the human in front of him and once we saw that video, we knew he needed our help.

Once Magnus came into our care, we found that he also had a very large, deep wound just below his right hip. The wound wasn't very fresh and once we started cleaning it out, you may be able to guess what we found and how Magnus got his name. ;-) Radiographs showed that his pelvis was broken, which explained why he had zero ability to use his right leg. It also seemed that something had bitten Magnus, with enough force to leave a major mark and shatter the right side of his pelvis. We knew just how lucky our little guy was to have survived whatever happened to him.

There's great news to this story though! With the direction of our incredible orthopedic surgeon, we were advised on the best care for Magnus and surgery wasn't in the recommendations. Given his young age and their incredible ability to heal, Magnus was on kennel rest for 2 months, started PT and laser therapy and his large wound was treated. When you meet Magnus now, you'd never know that 2 months ago the best he could do was drag his rear right leg behind him. Now, he's just the most inquisitive, loving kitten we know, with nothing slowing him down!

Given everything Magnus has survived, somehow this little dude has the most wonderful personality! He is outgoing, playful, confident and is ready for anything! He loves to chat with you and follow his human around. He quickly made friends with his much bigger kitty foster siblings and thinks having a built in play buddy at home is pretty fantastic! He's quickly warming up to the dogs in the house, as well. He loves his snacks and when meal time rolls around! He's litter box trained and kid approved. This guy is so tolerant and will adapt well to any environment. He loves adventure and being a part of the action, so even a busy household would be a place for Magnus to thrive!

Magnus is around 3 months old now. He is current on his age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, negative for Felv and FIV and up to date on his flea/tick/heartworm prevention. This guy is ready for his forever home! Reach out to us with any questions about Magnus!
