Maggie, Misty's Story

Available for Adoption: Maggie, and Misty

With the warm weather we’re having, the feral moms went into heat about a month earlier than usual, so here we are with two winter kittens.

Maggie, and Misty (The Indian Trails) were born in a derelict pickup truck at an engine repair garage in Indian Trail, NC. The garage owner thinks the mother was most likely hit by a car along the busy road. On March 3 when I got them, both kittens were severely dehydrated and malnourished. Judging by their teeth development, they were about three weeks old. Both kittens required glucose to get their sugar levels up, subcutaneous fluids for hydration, and tube feeding because they didn’t have the energy to nurse from a bottle or even to swallow from a syringe. After 72 hours, they perked up nicely, and are now enthusiastic bottle feeders.

Misty (a brown tabby) and Maggie (a panther) are laid back and sedate. They are certainly active
and playful with each other and love their cuddle time.

Misty and Maggie are available for adoption but will not be old enough to leave for forever homes until early April, which will put them close to 8-9 weeks old. Whenever possible, we prefer that the kittens be adopted in pairs.

The normal adoption fee of $150 for one kitten and $225 for two covers FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and neutering with our partner vet, Southern Paws Animal Hospital.

To set up a visit, PM me or drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit an adoption contract. You can download the contract from my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com) or from my Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group Facebook page. We are a rescue non-profit 501(c)(3).
