Maggie's Story
Maggie, along with her sisters Molly and Misty, was born in a derelict pickup truck at an engine repair garage in Indian Trail, NC. When I got them on March 3, all three kittens were severely dehydrated and malnourished. Judging by their teeth development, they were about three weeks old, so I’m calling February 12 their birthday.

Maggie (a panther) is much more sedate than her sisters. She is certainly active, but much less interested in the kitten nonsense the others get themselves into. That may change as she develops, but for now she seems like the calm one of the litter.

All three sisters tested negative for FeLV (feline leukemia virus) but weak positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), which our vet feels may be residual antibodies from their feral mom. The kittens will be retested between 3-6 months old, but should live healthy, happy lives even in a home with FIV negative cats. To read more about FIV positive kittens, here is a great article from the Kitten Lady.

Maggie will be eight weeks old April 9. The adoption fee of $150 covers FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spaying with our partner vet, Southern Paws Animal Hospital. We will also cover the followup FIV test.

To set up a visit with Maggie, PM me or drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com.
