Maggie's Story

A love letter to Maggie, my foster kitty, born July 2025

Dear Sweet (and Slightly Ridiculous) Maggie,

From the moment you walked in, you completely stole the show—and my heart. Fostering became way more fun with you around, and honestly, it took about five minutes for you to decide you owned the house and everyone in it. No challenge ever stopped you. You assessed every situation like a tiny genius and then confidently said, “I got this.”

I truly hope your new family has a fish tank because let’s be honest—you enjoyed watching them, and i think they enjoyed you just as much. Your new family will also quickly notice how helpful you are at keeping things neat and tidy (a rare and impressive talent). At playtime, they’ll be shocked by how quiet and gentle you are... right up until you decide it’s wrestling time and then all bets are off.

Since you’re basically part mountain goat, I hope your new home has plenty of tall places to climb so you can supervise everything from above. My little dog is absolutely going to miss you—mostly because you never gave up trying to convince her to play, even when she clearly did not get the memo. I’ll be sending your sweater with you so you can stay stylish until you expand your wardrobe.

You haven’t met kids yet, but you already know the rules: if little hands pull your ears, tail, legs, or paws, be brave—because bravery comes with rewards.

You are truly one of a kind—from your unique and beautiful coat to the way you watch TV like you’re invested in the plot, and even how you demand attention on your schedule. You’re full of love for everyone, no matter their size or age, and you have a special talent for making any home feel warmer, more vibrant, and way more fun.

I wish there were an easier way to explain how special you are—but I guess being this amazing just requires a lot of words.

Be good, be silly, and please don’t grow up too fast.

Love always,

Your foster

Maggie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, felv/fiv negative, and microchipped.
