Mae Mae's Story

MaeMae is a young adult who resides in a luxurious foster space with her fur siblings. MaeMae was rescued from outdoors as a kitten and initially fostered by someone who was helping to control the cat population where she lived. MaeMae was going to be returned outside, however was very sweet, so the foster kept her inside. (This is why Mae Mae has an ear tip...it does NOT mean she is feral). While with her initial foster, MaeMae lived with other cats and small dogs and was getting used to them. Then her adopter was forced to move where she was limited in the number of pets she could have. We took MaeMae to a new foster and she's been living the pampered life ever since! We would really like for MaeMae to find her forever home with a loving family. To make that happen, we are reducing MaeMae's adoption fee and then will be donating that adoption fee in her honor to the Humane Society, to support spay and neuter programs for community cats. Potential adopters are required to complete an adoption application, be approved and hold a meet and greet with MaeMae and her foster prior to adoption. <br/>MaeMae is current on vaccinations and has tested NEGATIVE for FeLV/FIV. She has received consistent flea treatment and deworming according to vet recommendations/protocols. Upon adoption, we will provide a microchip that can be inserted when MaeMae goes to her regular vet. We would assume with slow introductions, MaeMae will get used to dogs again, and she lives with several other foster cats and gets along great! But slow introductions will be the key for regal MaeMae. If you would like to give MaeMae her forever home, please contact us today!

Cats In Knead's Adoption Policy
*Please note-the location listed (Karns City) is our mailing address (required by PetFinder)...it is NOT the location of where the cat/kitten is fostered. Most of our cats/kittens are fostered in the Butler County area. Procedures: Potential adopters contact our organization via email or through social media messages. We are currently only operating a Facebook page at this time, until we can gain more volunteers who can help us expand our social media and website platform. An adoption application is sent to the interested adopter via email (Google link). Once the application is received back to Cats In Knead, it is reviewed by our Foster Coordinator. References are called, addresses are confirmed and the vet reference listed is contacted. If any of the responses do not align with our beliefs regarding adoption, or if false information is given, the application will be denied. If everything looks good on the application, the Foster Coordinator contacts the applicant and follows up with some simple questions, then coordinates a meet and greet with the foster and the potential adopter. After the meet and greet (which only occurs at the foster home), the potential adopter contacts the foster coordinator with their input regarding the visit. We reserve the right to conduct a home visit with the potential adopter at any time before, during or after the adoption process. If adopters are approved, they will also be required to review and sign a contract, which will be maintained by Cats In Knead.
