MADELEINE's Story
Meet Madeleine (like the sweet cookie!)
DOB: April 22, 2025 Intake: November 10, 2025 FeLV+

Madeleine is pure magic wrapped up in a tiny, polydactyl package. This dilute torbie beauty--with her magnificent extra-toed mittens--is mischievous, affectionate, and an absolute joy to be around.
Rescued from a local dairy farm, Madeleine quickly charmed everyone she met. Her former foster Diane describes her as loving, gentle, and deeply people-oriented--she thrives on human interaction and has a way of making you feel like the center of her world. She is playful, curious, and full of kitten energy, with just the right balance of sweetness and sass.

Medically, Madeleine has received thorough diagnostic and preventative medical care. She was spayed on August 25, is fully vaccinated, and thoroughly dewormed. Sadly, a follow-up test on October 30 confirmed that she is positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). Since August (until arrival at Big Sid's Sanctuary in early November, she had lived in isolation to protect other cats--receiving plenty of love and attention but clearly longing for feline companionship she couldn't safely have.

And that longing is very real. Madeleine adores other cats and gets along especially well with Smuckers. Because of her youth, energy, and social nature, we believe a home where she could be adopted together with Smuckers would be truly ideal.

We want to be very honest with potential adopters: kittens born with FeLV often have shortened lifespans. While exceptions to this give us hope, anyone considering Madeleine must understand this reality fully. What she may lack in years, she more than makes up for in love, personality, and joy.
Madeleine deserves a home that will treasure her for however long that may be--one that understands the risks, embraces the rewards, and is willing to open their heart knowing the road may not be easy. In return, she will give affection freely, play endlessly, and love deeply.

Madeleine is magical.
Her mittens are magnificent.
And her heart? Absolutely enormous.

MADELEINE (and SMUCKERS) are part of or Bonded Buddy AND Forever Foster a Feleuk Kitty Programs!

NOTE: as of 12-29-25 she is currently off the adoption circuit as we try to better manage her stomatitis. However, we do want everyone to see just how stinkin' adorable she is and get to know her a bit!
