MADDOX's Story
Pretty little MADDOX (Maddie) was relinquished by her former owner. He mentioned she would be shy at first but would warm up to people and was very sweet and affectionate. He was concerned that she self-groomed too much and had started wearing some thin spots on her coat. Cats will over-groom if they are stressed but since she has been with us, we haven't seen any signs of over grooming, and her coat is beautiful. He felt he could not afford to keep her and requested we find her a home where she could be loved and cared for.

Since she came to us, MADDOX did hide a bit at first, but once she became more confident that she was safe, she quickly came out of hiding. She was soon asking for loving from the volunteers. MADDOX loves chin and neck rubs. She has recently been moved to her room with several other cats and seems ok with it all. We don't know how MADDOX would be with dogs, cats, or children, but given her shy, slightly nervous nature, she probably would not do well with kittens, puppies or small children. She is not aggressive, but she would probably spend her time hiding from the chaos that kittens, puppies and youngsters naturally generate.

This sweet girl is probably more of a lover than a playmate, but she might enjoy periods of playtime once she gains confidence that she is safe in her new home. She would be fine with older children who understand that MADDOX might prefer to become a snuggle buddy instead of playing much. MADDOX needs a patient home and family willing to let her set the pace. The reward to winning sweet MADDOX's heart will be well worth the time and effort!

DOB-06/2019 Entered Shelter-062025

If you are interested in adopting MADDOX, please visit the shelter during Adoption Hours, Wednesdays and Mondays, 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Saturdays, 10:00am to 1:00pm, or call 231-773-3030 to make an appointment.
