Macy's Story

Sweet little Macy thinks anything that waves is a toy! She loves batting at her foster sibling’s Daisy’s tail, and anything that moves is fair game for her to track with her eyes and attempt to catch with her little paws. Macy is the poster child for sweet. She is pure love and innocence. Her movements are a bit erratic because her mom likely suffered from Distemper while she was in utero. This means her cerebral cortex development was stunted and so her motor skills are less defined than they should be. Despite her clumsy movements, she takes joy in play and romping around just like other kittens. When she isn’t playing she can be found snuggling with her foster siblings (both dogs and cats!) or snoozing on her foster mom’s lap. Sweet little Macy needs to be adopted either with one of her adoptable friends in her foster home (she has many so this would be a discussion) or to a home where she can make friends with another cat (and a dog!) Macy has grown up with cats, dogs and ferrets and snuggles and plays well with all!

https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoptable-pets

Familiar Hearts Animal Society's Adoption Policy
We always have potential adopters fill out our adoption application first so we can first vet them and make sure we approve of them as adopters before then inviting them to meet the animal(s) they are interested in. We feel this not only saves time for our fosters, it helps us get to know the applicant better and better be able to match them with the potential pet that is best for them. We always make sure everyone has a lot of time to deeply consider the adoption before finalizing it. The adoption is considered finalized after the adoption contract is reviewed and signed and the fee is paid. We then tranfer all the vet records and microchip information to the new family. We also offer behavioral support before and after adoption and one free training session with our dog trainer for dog adopters.
