Macy

Meet Macy, a pretty long haired, gray and white kitty. She was found as a stray but the couple who found her already had two cats and could not keep her. She then made her way to Second Chance.

Macy is friendly and accepts pets and actually likes them once she relaxes. She will also purr indicating how nice it feels and will roll over for belly rubs. Macy is timid and can be skittish when approached. Churu is a big incentive for Macy as well as a cat condo or a window for Macy to relax. She is more confident with a little height and much more receptive to pets when eye level with her human counterpart. She is great with using the litter box and eating her food, especially wet. It will take some time for Macy to become braver so an interested adopter will have to provide patience and reassurance to build her confidence. It may be just a short time or it may be a little longer, it's important to work with a cat on their terms. We know Macy is very sweet and believe in time will become a more confident and loving kitty. It was reported she was a lap kitty with the people who had originally found her.

Macy is currently in foster care where her very playful side has shone through. Macy is in foster care with her foster sister Priscilla. Priscilla's primary cat interaction has been with her Macy. Macy has brought out Cilla's softer, loving side and Cilla has helped give Macy confidence. They love to play together, chasing each other in the tunnel, cuddling and grooming one another. When Cilla comes for pets, Macy likes to rub against Cilla and then also allows pets, so it's two for one petting time! We believe they have a strong attachment and it would be great if they were adopted together. If not, Macy would need a friendly, cuddly playmate.

Macy would do best with a single adopter, a couple or a family with older, respectful kids. Macy needs a slow, gentle approach and a quiet routine. Over time she will benefit from regular brushing to keep her coat soft and mat free.

Macy is currently in foster care receiving some extra TLC. With an approved application, a meet and greet can be set up in the foster home.

Macy has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Macy has an approximate birthdate of 10/08/2022. Macy has an adoption fee of $95.

If you are interested in meeting Macy or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, please go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
