Mack's Story
Mack — Loyal, Big-Hearted, and Looking for My Person Hi, I’m Mack. I’ve known what it means to belong — and what it feels like to lose everything familiar. After I was rescued as a stray and landed at the Peninsula Humane Society, the shelter environment was overwhelming for me, and my future was uncertain. Thankfully, Give Me Shelter stepped in, and I was adopted into a home where I bonded deeply with my person. When she unexpectedly passed away, my whole world changed. I spent a short time at San Francisco Animal Care & Control before finding my way back to Give Me Shelter, where I’ve been given the space to feel safe again. I miss my person very much — but I’m ready for someone new who will understand me, love my quirks, and let me rule the house just a little.

I’m a confident and curious cat. I love following my humans around and conversing with them, playing and zooming, love-biting and jumping, meeting new visitors, lounging in my sunny cat tree - and oh, most importantly, eating!!! If you couldn’t tell from my pictures, I’m a long cat, and quite handsome with my white boots, furry ear-tips and long whiskers. Psst, and by the way, don’t listen to my foster parents if they tell you I’m a nutball or a little clumsy.

I was so affectionate and friendly when I first arrived at my foster home that my foster parents were completely shocked I was a candidate for euthanasia. All I wanted to do was cuddle, play, and give head-butts. Now that I’ve had time attempting to rule as king of the house, I’ve heard a rumor that...I'm a little quirky. But aren’t all cats?! And isn’t that a good thing? Without quirks, I can't imagine my foster parents would have so many fun names to call me! Macaroon for when I’m an adorable sweetie-pie, Macaroni for when I’m bonkers wreaking havoc with a spring toy, and Mackeral for when I’m a little naughty... what can I say? I like to give love bites and jump to unusual places every now and then. But don’t worry, I don’t harm anyone, I’m just playing and come across as being a little bossy. But when I’m in a chill mood, I like to be cradled and held like a baby. How many cats can say that, huh? Oh, and is that a treat for me?! I’ll be on my best, most affectionate behavior now. Bitey? Me? Never. MEOW, treat please.

My foster parents say I’ll make a great companion, for a family without children. They just wouldn’t understand my kingly ways. I also like to snack on things, so a house without a lot of temptations lying around. Maybe you could give me a little cat garden of cat-friendly greens... that would be amazing! But really I just need a family who’ll love me and look out for me. I'm so excited to meet and join my new family. Apply and ask about me, Mack the ultimate cat!

P.S. Some of my photos are from earlier on — after time in a home, I’ve put on a little extra weight, so I may look trimmer in the earlier ones.

Follow me @purrfect_purrminators on Instagram.

Please note:
- Mack needs a home with no young children.
- Indoor only

For more information or to apply for Mack, please go to:
https://www.givemesheltersf.org/adoption/cat.php?id=11833

[id=11833;ts=1769155220;src=pf]
