Meet Macho <br/><br/>Macho is a charming 1-year-old black domestic shorthair who has come a long way since he was found on the side of the road. He has blossomed into an incredibly special cat and, after being recently returned through no fault of his own, he’s hoping his next home will finally be his forever home.<br/><br/>Macho is a very social and affectionate boy who enjoys being with his people. One of his favorite things is settling into bed with his foster family at night. He sleeps right alongside them all night, completely unfazed by tossing and turning—he simply wants to be close to his people.<br/><br/>Macho also has a playful, curious side. He loves exploring, playing, and getting into just enough mischief to keep you entertained. He has a big personality and will happily keep you company throughout the day.<br/><br/>When Macho first arrived in foster care, we weren’t sure how he would feel about sharing his home with other cats. With time, patience, and very gradual introductions, however, he has shown us that he absolutely can live with feline friends. Macho does best when introductions are slow and respectful, and he will likely need a long adjustment period before feeling comfortable with a new cat.<br/><br/>Once settled, Macho tends to be the dominant cat in the relationship. Because of this, his best feline companion would be a confident, easygoing cat who won’t challenge him for control of the household. A younger cat who enjoys playing but is comfortable letting Macho be the boss could be a great match. He should not be rushed into a relationship with another cat - his humans will need to be patient and allow him to set the pace.<br/><br/>We also suspect Macho could do well with a dog, although he has not yet been around dogs.<br/><br/>If Macho is your only pet, that’s perfectly fine too! He would do best with a family that is home often and can provide plenty of companionship, playtime, and enrichment. He truly enjoys being part of the family and would love nothing more than a home where he can curl up in bed with his people at night.<br/><br/>Could Macho Be Your Barn Cat?<br/><br/>Macho may also be an excellent fit for a family looking for a social, friendly barn cat. He has a natural hunting instinct and is a fantastic hunter, but unlike many traditional working cats, Macho genuinely enjoys people and companionship. He would be the kind of barn cat who comes running to greet you, enjoys attention and affection, and still knows how to put his hunting skills to work.<br/><br/>For the right family, Macho could have the best of both worlds—a safe, secure place to call home, plenty of room to explore, and people who appreciate his affectionate personality and natural abilities. His new family should be committed to providing appropriate shelter, food, veterinary care, and a safe transition period before allowing him outdoor access.<br/><br/>While we believe cats are safest as indoor-only pets, Macho has developed an interest in the outdoors. Whether he becomes a cherished indoor companion or a well-cared-for family barn cat, his future home should prioritize his safety and provide him with stability and companionship.<br/><br/>Macho has perfect litter box manners and is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his next chapter.<br/><br/>Macho has experienced more change than any cat should have to. What he needs now is someone willing to give him the time, patience, stability, and love he deserves.<br/><br/>In return, you’ll get an incredibly affectionate, social, playful companion who will happily curl up beside you—or a talented little hunter who would love to become part of your barn family. <br/><br/>Macho is ready.
