Macey's Story
Meet Macey, the Resilient Tabby! Found alone and frightened in a VA hospital basement, Macey’s journey to safety and happiness has been nothing short of remarkable. Since her arrival, she has truly blossomed into a laid-back and affectionate companion. She loves to greet you in her own quirky way—flopping onto her head to say hello! A cat tree is a must for this little climber, as she enjoys perching up high and watching the world go by. Macey also absolutely loves to be talked to—she’s the best listener, will happily keep all your secrets, and never judges a thing. She’s the perfect little confidant.

Macey is a very special girl who has been diagnosed with Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome (FHS), a condition that can cause periods of heightened sensitivity, especially along her back. Because of this, she can become overstimulated and needs to be petted and handled a little differently than most cats. She thrives with someone who understands her boundaries and is willing to love her for exactly who she is. She takes a daily medication called Clomipramine for her condition, which she eats mixed into her fish-flavored wet food—making her care routine simple and manageable. We are also willing to help with the cost of her medication and can discuss details further during the application process. Macey’s uniqueness doesn’t make her any less deserving of love—in fact, it makes her even more special. She just needs the right person who can appreciate her gentle spirit and meet her where she is. Maybe that person is you—someone who understands that love isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Sent from my iPhone

Macey was born approximately March, 2023. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, and has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS.

To express an interest in adopting her, you need to fill out our adoption application, including as much detail as possible at https://kittycorner.org/adoption/application/. Please be sure that your email address is correct. If your application is accepted, KittyCorner will contact you via email to set up a time for you to come and meet her.

We require a donation of $100 per kitten/cat that will contribute to the cost of veterinary care that the kitten/cat received for all the above-mentioned procedures/treatments.

KittyCorner is a New York State Registered Shelter/Rescue, Registration Number: RR0279.

*All kittycorner.org kittens/cats come with a lifetime “cat-back” guarantee. If at any time, for any reason they need to be returned/rehomed, please just return them to KittyCorner. We will happily take them back as our mission is to ensure that all our adoptees will always have a safe place to stay and call home.
