Macaroon

Meet Macaroon. She’s a beautiful young gray-and-white tabby with a gentle heart and a story no cat should have to live. In 2025, E Rescue Houston stepped in at the last minute to save Cookie and her litter of kittens—including little Macaroon—from a local shelter. Rescue gave this precious family a second chance at life and the hope of a happy future.

Just three months later, Macaroon and her mama, Cookie, were adopted by a family who promised to love them forever. We hoped their days of uncertainty were behind them. We hoped they had finally found their people. But sadly, forever didn't last. On April 11, E Rescue Houston received a heartbreaking call from the Houston SPCA. Both Cookie and Macaroon had been surrendered by their adopter. Once again, the future of these two precious souls was uncertain. Thankfully, their microchips helped bring them back to safety, and a dedicated volunteer rushed to bring them home to rescue.

Cookie has since found a new forever home. But Macaroon? She's still waiting.
Somewhere along the way, this sweet girl lost the security of a home. Macaroon deserves the chance to discover that love doesn't always leave. That a home can be permanent. That someone can choose her and keep choosing her, every single day.

Macaroon may be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her patience, kindness, and time to feel safe, and her loving personality begins to shine. She can live with children, dogs, and other friendly cats when introductions are slow and thoughtful.

Fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped
Combo-tested negative
Up to date on all preventions

She doesn't need a perfect family. She needs a committed one. Someone who understands that adoption is a promise, not a trial run. Someone who will stand beside her through every season of life and never make her wonder if she's being left behind again. Please consider opening your heart and home to this deserving girl. And if you can't adopt, please share her story. Her person is out there somewhere.
