Mac N Cheese's Story
MAC — the Brave Office Tower Survivor with a Heart of Gold!
Mac’s story began at a high-rise office building in the suburbs of Houston, where a kind employee fed him daily. He weathered an extremely cold winter on his own, curling up in the parking garage to stay warm. When a local rescue was asked to step in, they didn’t hesitate — Mac deserved safety, comfort, and love.
From the moment he arrived, this sweet boy relaxed right into indoor life. He was thin and exhausted, but instantly appreciated soft beds, steady meals, and kind humans. At first, Mac was very vocal at feeding time — after all, he hadn’t always known when his next meal was coming. But once he realized food would always be there, he blossomed into a calm, confident companion.
Mac is affectionate in the cutest way: pat-pat your lap, and he’ll hop right up for a hug.
He enjoys wrestling with his buddy Bagheera, but he is very selective about feline friends — so he’s listed as a no-cats adoption. (He loves kittens, though!) He also does well with the dog in his foster home.
Some of Mac’s favorite things:?• Lounging on the screened-in porch (but not for too long!)?• Long, cozy afternoon naps?• Chasing his mouse toys?• Batting at string toys?• Playtime with kids — though he does best with older children, as he can get a bit overstimulated and will gently “mouth” to say he’s done.
Most of all, Mac loves his people. He wants to be part of a home where he’s cherished, understood, and included in daily life.
If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, lap-loving cat with a big heart and an even bigger story, Mac may be your perfect match. While he’d be thrilled to be adopted with his playmate Bagheera, he will do fine as a single!
Mac is a good boy for a nail trim, too!
