Mabel Copeland's Story

This is Mabel, a sweet and resilient lady looking for her forever home. Though over a year old now, she still has plenty of playful kitten energy. She loves toys and exploring, and she is also very affectionate. when her foster mom is getting ready to start the day, Mabel sits on a step stool right next to the sink. During the son's bath time, Mabel keeps his towel warm. She often lies on her back looking for belly rubs and makes biscuits in the air the entire time. She likes to sit on a lap occasionally but mainly prefers to sit on the arm rest next to her person. She enjoys a serving of juicy wet food in the morning as well as the evening, and has 24/7 access to kitty kibble.

Mabel lived with one of her littermates and a dog before coming to her foster home. She does well with other animals, but slow introductions are important.

Mabel has had quite a journey and she is ready for a happy ending. She is officially in remission from an autoimmune skin condition called pemphigus foliaceus, the most common autoimmune disease for cats. She is thriving with a consistent medication routine, taking her medication easily in a Churu and she does great with a weekly injection. She will need twice yearly dermatology checkups and routine vet care, but she is incredibly cooperative for the car ride to the vet. Her first owner was going to have her euthanized due to the skin condition but she was saved by a 4Paws volunteer. Now that she is healthy and stable, she is ready for a family that is organized and reliable with her medical care routines so she can continue thriving.

Cut and paste the link below on YouTube to Check out Mabel's sweet personality -
https://youtube.com/shorts/ggprloulN28?feature=shared

Mabel is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and micro chipped.

** PLEASE NOTE*** 4PAWS WILL ONLY CONSIDER LOCAL ADOPTIONS (NORTHERN VA/DC/MD METROPOLITAN AREA)
