Mabel's Story

Meet Mabel! We are seeking a long-term foster placement for Mabel. This sweet girl came to Animal Advocates after being found by a good samaritan - a tiny five-month old kitten abandoned alone, outside, struggling in the oppressive July heat.

Mabel has recently been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

and is currently taking daily medications and eating special food to help alleviate the symptoms. She does experience GI upset and litter box challenges, as her condition is not 100% managed yet. Our partner veterinarian is recommending a care plan that may include experimenting with different foods, seeing a specialist and potentially continuing medication(s). Mabel is spayed, tested negative for FIV/Felv and up-to-date on vaccinations and flea/deworming treatments. Her date of birth is estimated in February 2025.

Mabel is currently residing in a multi-pet foster household, living comfortably with other cats and a feline-savvy dog. Mabel is seemingly fine with resident animals, but because of her care needs, Mabel would do better with “lower energy” furry companions or ones who are accepting of (or less curious of)
a new cat in the home.

Mabel’s ideal would be a quiet home with a comfy space she can call her own and a patient person who is willing to provide care.

Low key and low stress is what Mabel craves right now.

Mabel is very much a kitty who needs a lot of TLC right now. Despite it all, Mabel is a sweet little lady with soulful eyes, desperate to feel better. She has soft white and grey fur and a soft, gentle personality to match. Her story speaks to what animal rescue is sometimes all about - messy, difficult but worth giving Mabel a chance at being a healthy, thriving kitten!

Our team welcomes the opportunity to speak with potential fosters to answer any questions on Mabel’s specific care needs. In a long-term foster placement the goal is to connect special animals with individuals in the community who are interested and able to provide care for a pet. As a volunteer-foster, all expenses, supplies and other support are provided by the rescue. If you have any questions or are able to help foster, please contact Animal Advocates:

animaladvocatespgh294@gmail.com

or apply online at

animaladvocates.net

(under the “Get Involved” menu for volunteer application or the “Adopt” for adoption application).

Please share Mabel's story with trusted, animal loving friends, family and colleagues.
