Mabel's Story
Mabel and her brother Salem were born in our care after we took their stray/ semi feral mother in. We caught her on our Ring camera and could tell she was majorily pregnant. We didn't want the coyotes, foxes, bears. or any other predators to get her or her babies. They were born on Easter. Mabel loves to play & wrestle with her brother. She likes to cuddle with him and our other fosters. A lot of times she is like a mother to them and we will find her cleaning them. She likes to make biscuits and suck on a blanket to fall asleep. She likes to lay next to people not with them, and prefers not to be held. She will cry at you for pets and attention, and weirdly likes to be patted on her back near her tail. Her brother Salem was adopted in June of 2025, Mabel seemed to be sad without him. Luckily for her but, unfortunately due to no fault of his own Salem was returned to us in October 2025. The family decided he wasn't a good fit for their little children. They confessed that they were pulling his fur and nonstop bothering him. After a bit Salem had enough and started to defend himself against this. They didn't want to seperate him by locking him in a room or the basement, and thought the best thing for Salem was to return him. They stated that they really enjoyed having him and he was a great cat. He would greet them every morning with meows and wanting belly rubs. His return was unfortunate, however the silver lining was his reuniting with Mabel. They were all over each other and back to playing right away. They both seemed to be happier. So we would really like to see them go together.
