Lyra's Story

Meet Lyra, a charming 1-year-old young adult kitty (born November 2024) with a heart full of sweetness and endless potential!

Rescued at just 3 months old from a feral colony in a Hayward motel parking lot, tiny Lyra already showed such a gentle, tame spirit that her rescuers knew she deserved a loving forever home. Now fully blossoming into a playful and affectionate young cat, she's ready to thrive with a patient, calm, and understanding family.

Lyra can be a little reserved when she first meets new people, but with a quiet, steady approach and some time to feel safe, she opens up beautifully—revealing her truly sweet, loving personality and delightful bursts of energy. She especially loves having a feline friend or two around; neutral or friendly cats help her feel confident and secure, and she'll happily zoom around the house chasing her favorite cheetah feather wand or pouncing on fuzzy mice toys for hours of fun.

Once settled, Lyra transforms into a rewarding companion who will steal your heart with her gentle affection and playful spirit. She’d do wonderfully in a relatively quiet home with at least one other cat companion. A family with small children or teenagers who respect her pace, and even a calm dog, could also be a great fit.

Lyra is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. She’s a special girl who just needs the right people to help her shine— and the love you’ll share will be so worth it!

If you have a patient heart and a calm home, Lyra could be your perfect match.
