Lyra's Story

Lyra is a sweet girl with a side of sass. She was adopted out as a young cat but escaped and spent two more years living on the streets before she made her way back to the Annex Cat Rescue family. She is not recommended to a home with young children. Although she does tolerate other animals, she doesn't really want them in her space. She would do okay in a home with another cat who simply wanted to coexist with her, but she would prefer to be the only cat and the queen of her castle.

Lyra enjoys being pet but can become overwhelmed and will swat. She is polydactyl so it is important that her new family is committed to nail trims to ensure her nails do not become ingrown. Lyra will sleep with her foster mom, but at this time she does not cuddle.

Lyra is looking for a home with a patient adopter who is willing to win her over with treats and gentle loving.

Like all ACR cats, Lyra is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. She is negative for FIV and FeLV, and had a fractured tooth removed.
