Lyra's Story

Lyra’s story started with seven tiny kittens and a young mama cat who had been left behind when her owner moved away. She wandered to a neighboring home looking for help and did everything she could to care for her babies, but the situation wasn’t safe. One kitten had already been lost and they desperately needed somewhere safe to go.

Their young mama had been abandoned and was trying to care for seven kittens on her own. When she eventually stopped caring for them, the kittens were left frightened, unsocialized, and essentially feral.

Lyra has come a long way since then.
She is playful, silly, friendly, and curious, with just enough caution to keep things interesting. She’s brave enough to explore and join in on the fun, but unlike Sura, she usually likes to take a second to make sure everything is safe before diving in headfirst. Once she feels comfortable, though, her goofy little personality comes right out.

Lyra loves to play, investigate what everyone else is doing, and be part of the action. She has a sweet, social nature and continues to grow more confident every day.

She would be a great fit for a home that wants a fun, affectionate kitten with a little bit of a thoughtful side. Give her a little patience, plenty of playtime, and lots of love, and she’ll reward you with a wonderfully entertaining little companion.
Lyra is ready to keep discovering how good life can be — this time with a family of her own.

Please note: Lyra is still too young for spay/neuter at this time. Their adoption includes a required future spay/neuter through True North Sanctuary, and the adoption will not be considered complete until the procedure has been performed.
