Lydia's Story

Can you believe Lydia has been here as long as she has? Lydia will need a special home that will love her for her wild energy. Her favorite pass times are scaling her kennel door, chasing her mice toys and showing off her vocal range. Her energy can be contagious and we encourage her future family to keep her occupied with plenty of toys and room to run around. She isn't the most fond of hugs or snuggles, and will only tolerate love for short periods before she will want to play! From what we have seen, she would do best in a house without any other cats and with a slow, proper introduction, a dog might be the perfect fit for this feline! She is our cat staffs favorite and her name is known shelter wide. We love seeing what she is up to in her kitten window and playing with her with wand toys whenever we get a chance!

Pet Helpers Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Our adoption process usually begins with potential adopters (21 or older) coming into the shelter to look around at our available animals. When we have a better idea of who we want to adopt the potential adopter fills out one of our adoption questionnaires which we will then look over. We do have to confirm certain information like an apartment complexes pet policies, verifying that current pets are up to date on their vaccines, etc. We also try to meet all the humans in the household as we believe adopting a new animal should be a group decision. With our dog adoptions we also require dog to dog meet and greets in order to help make sure the potential new dog is a good fit. We love nothing more than seeing our shelter animals find their forever homes and we do everything in our power to make sure each adoption is a happy and successful one. Everything we do is ultimately for the health and happiness of animals.
