LUNA's Story
Do you have room in your heart and home for a gentle, loving girl who has already lost so much? Meet Luna. She is almost two years old and as sweet as they come. Luna is a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she truly shines. She loves being petted, purrs happily, and will lay right on top of you once she’s comfortable. She allows you to pick her up and hold her, enjoys affection, and just wants to be loved. Luna gets along well with other cats and people, though she prefers a calm environment where she can feel secure. She likes being indoors and safe. One quirky thing about Luna — tuna is not her thing and upsets her tummy, but that just makes her even more endearing. Sadly, Luna lost her home when her family’s house burned down, and they no longer had a place to live. Through no fault of her own, she found herself in need of a new beginning. Luna is FIV positive. This does not mean she cannot live a long, happy life. Many cats with FIV live for years with proper care and regular veterinary visits. Because the virus is spread through bite wounds, separate spaces are recommended if there is another cat in the home. Luna is a vulnerable girl who needs a loving, caring family to help her thrive. Thanks to the generosity of JR Dunn Jewelers, Luna’s adoption fee has been fully covered. To meet Luna or any other adoptable pet, please complete a pre-adoption application at humanebroward.com and come in. The shelter is located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL and opens daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, please call 954-989-3977.
