Luna's Story

Meet Luna – A Little Star with a Big Personality

Luna is a 4-year-old black beauty with a striking white patch on her chest and an adorable short tail that gives her a uniquely charming look. She's ready to leave her past behind and shine in a forever home of her own. When Luna arrived at the rescue, she had just been left in a carrier outside a veterinary hospital — along with her kitten (Moonpie) and 11 other cats. Despite her young age, Luna has spent much of her life being a mama. In fact, we know she's had at least three litters. But now, for the first time, Luna is getting to discover what it means to just be a cat — to play, to lounge, and to enjoy life on her terms.

Luna is independent, curious, and observant. One of her favorite pastimes is sitting in the window, watching the world go by. She tolerates being pet, especially around the head and neck, but belly rubs are strictly off-limits — she'll let you know when she's had enough. She has a sassy streak and a strong sense of self, so she'd do best with an experienced cat owner who can understand and respect her boundaries.

When it comes to mealtime, Luna has opinions — and she won't hesitate to remind you if dinner is running late! She's recently started exploring the rescue more freely, and we often find her soaking up the view from the nearest sunny window. We'd love for her to have a permanent one to call her own.

Luna does well with other cats as long as they give her space and aren't overly dominant. With the right setup and a respectful feline roommate, she could thrive in a multi-cat home. Luna is a survivor, a mom, and now — a cat finally learning to be herself. If you have room in your heart and home (and preferably a nice window), Luna just might be the purrfect companion for you. Her adoption fee has been reduced in the hopes of finding her forever home.

We received a grant from PetFinder Foundation to help find her forever home! Her adoption fee has been reduced by $100 (adoption fee will be $50).

Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption).

All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion.

Location: Bolton, CT
Adoption Fee: $150

Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
ADOPTION PROCESS Our goal is to match the right pet with the right adopter. This means we approach each adoption opportunity in a unique way. One of our adoption specialists will meet (in person, or by phone) with you to learn about your "ideal pet." We take into consideration lifestyle, family dynamic, desired personality traits and an adopter's overall objective in bringing a new pet into their home and make recommendations on which of our pets may be a good fit. ADOPTION SUPPORT We understand that bringing a new pet into your home can be a little stressful. It can take time for a new animal to settle in, and you may have questions about behavior or routine. When we adopt out a pet to a new home, we are available to answer any questions that come up - and to support the new adopter with any special needs they may have related to in-home adjustment. Because our pets are fostered in private homes, we can let you know what's normal, what's not and how to address any initial challenges you may have. FEES Adoption fees vary by animal, and take into consideration age, breed and other characteristics. We strive to keep adoption fees reasonable and many of our animals receive veterinary care at costs that far exceed the adoption fee. Adoption fees are listed on each animal's description. WHAT'S INCLUDED All of our adoptable animals receive age-appropriate vaccines, are spayed/neutered (at age-appropriate time), have a microchip and are tested for species-specific diseases. They also go home with a certificate for one month of FREE pet insurance through Trupanion.
