Meet Luna 🌙<br/>If you’re looking for a truly special cat, Luna may just be the one. At 7 years and 10 months old, this spayed female black-and-white Domestic Shorthair is quite possibly the nicest, most loving cat you’ll ever meet.<br/><br/>Luna is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She loves to be held and cuddled—more than any cat you’re likely to meet—and will happily soak up all the attention you can give. She’s also a big talker and will sweetly respond when you talk to her, making her feel more like a conversation partner than just a pet.<br/>Luna was originally surrendered to the rescue when a baby in her home developed allergies. She was later adopted, but unfortunately returned due to inappropriate urination related to stress and FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease) after a new puppy was introduced into the home.<br/><br/>About FLUTD:
FLUTD is a common condition in cats that affects the bladder and lower urinary tract and is often triggered or worsened by stress. Symptoms can include inappropriate urination, straining, or discomfort. In Luna’s case, the issue appeared to be situational and stress-induced, not behavioral. Since returning to the rescue—and being in a calm, predictable environment—she has had ZERO accidents, which strongly suggests that stress management is key to her success.<br/>Luna would do best in a low-stress, stable home where changes are minimal and her routine is respected. With a peaceful environment and lots of love, she thrives and shows no urinary issues.<br/><br/>If you’re searching for a deeply loving, cuddly, chatty companion who bonds closely with her people, Luna is ready to find her forever home and shower you with affection. 🖤🤍<br/><br/>Luna has had all age appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed with a general dewormer, has been spayed, microchipped, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and tested negative for FeLV virus.<br/><br/>We do recommend rechecking a fecal within 48 hours after you take any cat home, covered by us. If she is positive for any parasites, we will get you a dewormer recommended by your vet at no extra cost.<br/><br/>Adoption fee is $100. We take check, card, and cash.<br/><br/>You will receive a copy of the microchip form when you bring her home, and we will register it for you! In the first week, we would like to check the account to make sure we did not make any errors. After that, it will be your responsibility to keep the information accurate and up to date. This is a lifelong enrollment, and you will not have to pay towards it again. The microchip sits under the skin, between the shoulder blades. Your username will be your email address, so you will be required to have one. Once you logon to petlink.net, you can change the password to whatever you would like.<br/><br/>You will also receive a copy of your adoption contract, signed by you and a Pawsitive Cause board member. This contract will go over that our cats are seen by a veterinarian, have received vet care, and had their hearts listened to, but we cannot guarantee the health of any animal.<br/><br/>You will also receive a hand out about Upper Respiratory Infection in cats, as many animals in rescues and shelters have been previously exposed to this illness. Even if they are not showing signs of URI, the change or stress of going home can bring those symptoms on, which is why we send you home with the hand out.<br/><br/>We will go over a checklist to make sure that we did not miss anything. You will receive a copy of this as well. We have asked our fosters to bring some food for you to take home to transition on to what you would like them to eat. We have always offered both wet and dry food.<br/><br/>Luna is using litter boxes great. However, we recommend starting her out in a room with a litter box, and open more and more of the house at a time. Do not move the litter box a lot! This also helps with introductions to other animals. You should always do slow introductions under a door with a few days of no sight. Once all of the animals are calm and used to the new noises and smells, you can start offering treats at the door to both animals, then open the door and start letting them slowly mingle.<br/><br/>Lastly, you will receive a paper copy or email copy of all medical records we have on file. We would love it if you continued your vet care with us at Pawsitive Care, but we understand if you have a vet you love!
