Luna's Story

Hi, my name is Luna! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Talkative, sensitive
-Can Live with Cats: Luna would prefer to be an only cat. She tolerated the cat in one of her previous households.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks, Luna prefers to not be around dogs.
-Can Live with Kids: No thanks! She is required to go to an adult only home.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes she has only ever been indoor only.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Yes, had urinary crystals in the past and is on C/D food for life. She generally uses her litterbox if you use her favorite litter, but has had a couple behavior related accidents that seemed to be prompted by major changes to her environment. Her adopter should be understanding of this and willing to toss out a blanket or two if she has a couple accidents when she is adjusting to her new home.
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: Yes she has bitten and broken skin previously. Luna can be particular about the way she is handled. She would not be a good fit for elderly people.
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No, ready to go!
Additional Information: Luna is looking for the purrfect forever home! She will need an adopter with plenty of prior cat-experience - particularly with cats that have overstimulation issues. As long as it is on her own terms, Luna enjoys attention and curling up in a lap. She also has plenty of things to say and enjoys chatting the day away. If you have a mellow home with few visitors and are looking for a kitty queen to rule your home, Luna may be the girl for you.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
