Lulu was a young mama living in a box in an alley in East Harlem with her two babies. She was rescued in a rainstorm and was so happy to be inside. Her babies have grown and flown the next and sweet Lulu is ready for her forever home where she can be a young, independent lady.<br/><br/>Lulu loves affection and loves to give kisses, that is her super power! She has really soft fur and a beautiful dark tabby coat that shines in the sunshine. She'd love to be your forever friend!

Be The Change Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy

We send out an application. If someone is a match for one of our animals, we set up virtual and/or in-person meetings for the adopters and potential furry companions. The next step is a home check to ensure doors, windows, plants, fireplaces, etc. are animal friendly. Then we check personal references to verify identity, including, if applicable, a vet who has seen the adopter's previous animals. Lastly, we bring the animal in person to do a final check of the home environment. We stay in close contact for the first few weeks. If any issues arise, we support the adopter as needed. And we will always take an animal back should things not work out for any reason.

We are a small group of rescuers in Central Harlem helping to vet and home abandoned and injured animals. We maintain several neighborhood cat colonies, providing food and water year round, as well as warm shelters in colder months.
