Lulu's Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**

***Lulu is a natural-born leader, and must have one if not more willing sidekicks to maintain her image.

Even as a kitten, Lulu exhibited a smart streak and independent spirit. She was rescued from an industrial site where her mom birthed her litter. Lulu was often seen following her mother around, but even though her siblings were easily trapped, Lulu proved elusive and took a couple more months of patient waiting before she was caught.

However, once she was placed in foster with another pair of kittens similar in age, Lulu turned her efforts to navigating the indoor lifestyle and all the creature comforts it offered. She flourished in an indoor environment and loves the warm, comfortable beds and ample, regular meals. Just goes to show that Lulu’s smarts extend to her adaptability and resilience!

Lulu loves to play and has grown close to her fellow fosters Yin and Yang, so she will definitely need to have friends her own age to cuddle and play with. Although she may be timid initially in a new space with new faces, patience, soft voices, and gentle hands — especially ones holding treats! — will win over this sassy and sweet girl in no time. Lulu enjoys being petted and will lean into the hand to encourage more, once she has memorized and marked your scent as her own.

Lulu is food-motivated, but paradoxically a little fussy about flavours and textures. She prefers fish over fowl, and enjoys seafood pâté with a silkier texture most of all. This little princess knows her tastes and is quite capable of letting you know her likes! Thankfully, she LOVES treats — especially Temptations — and will come running when she hears the box being shaken.

When it comes to playing, Lulu has energy to spare and appears to draw energy from the air! She loves playing with dangling toys and chasing the laser dot, and her exuberance and seemingly tireless antics are hilarious to watch! Downtimes mean cuddling with Yin and Yang, her foster buddies, and at times would exercise her big sister role and groom them before settling down for a nap.

Lulu is a spunky, energetic and charming cat more than ready to find her own little kingdom of loving people and playful, adoring cats where she can reign supreme with a benevolent paw! With Lulu around, life will be bright with laughter and so much lively entertainment, guaranteed!

Would you like to make Lulu a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.

All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it's twice the fun for you, and half the work!
