Luke's Story

Hi there — I’m Luke!

You might be thinking of that Luke — the one from a galaxy far, far away — and you wouldn’t be too far off. My story isn’t quite intergalactic, but it’s been a real adventure! I wandered into an auto mechanic’s shop one day, skinny, dirty, and fighting a bad cold. I was in rough shape! The kind humans there took me in, and I was off to my foster home to recover and start my training to become the healthy, handsome Jedi cat you see today.

I’m all cleaned up now, a healthy weight, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and fully litter trained (it took me a bit to learn, but I’ve mastered it!). I’m not much of a toy guy — I prefer a good scratching post or a string toy over fancy gadgets — but where I really shine is in the affection department. I’m an expert lap sitter, leg wrapper, and head-butt giver. When I love, I love deeply.

That said, I can be shy with new people, and I’m looking for a calm home where I can feel safe. I’m not a fan of other cats (I tend to “hunt” them — the Dark Side still calls me sometimes), so I’ll need to be your one and only feline. I also get overstimulated sometimes, which means I may nip or bite if things get too exciting, so a home without kids would be best for me.

I’d also probably do well as an indoor-outdoor cat, as long as I have a safe place to come home to — my own little rebel base.

If you think we might be destined to join forces, reach out to the shelter to set up a meet-and-greet! You can contact them during business hours of 10am to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday. I’m not at the shelter building, so you’ll need to schedule a time and day to meet me. I can’t wait to find my forever home — maybe the Force will bring us together.
