Lucy Furr's Story

Meet Lucy Furr, the 1.5-year-old calico with a story as wild as her spirit and a sass level that could rival any feline diva! This fierce mama was living the stray life, hanging out with the neighborhood opossums and raccoons while pregnant and working hard to keep herself and her babies safe. Luckily, a kind-hearted human stepped in, giving Lucy a safe place to have her kittens and raise them without fear.

Lucy’s amazing mom skills meant all her kittens found loving homes—but finding a spot for Lucy herself proved tricky. Her previous family’s resident cat and Lucy just couldn’t see eye to eye, so she came to us at ACS for help. Life on the streets taught Lucy to be a bit of a lone warrior, and she’s definitely not a fan of other cats. While she can coexist with some cats in a group, she’s known to start a little drama and keep things spicy—typical calico style! So, Lucy would do best as the queen of her own castle without any other feline roommates.

The good news? Lucy has tested well with dogs and can hold her own, setting boundaries when needed. But because she can be a little rough when playing and gets overstimulated quickly, she’s not the best fit for homes with kids.

Lucy LOVES food (and maybe a few extra treats), which has turned her into a bit of a chunky monkey—she’s a foodie through and through! And when it’s time to unwind, nothing beats some quality catnip playtime to keep her entertained. If you’ve ever owned a calico, you know they come with a big dose of sass, spice, and personality—and Lucy is no exception. She’s got the classic calico charm that will keep you on your toes and bring a little extra flavor to your life.

Lucy comes spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines—ready to find a home where she can rule with a sassy, loving paw. Looking for a feisty, food-loving calico queen to brighten your days? Lucy Furr is your girl!

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
