Lucy's Story

Lucy came to us with her bonded sister, Purd, after their family experienced housing issues. Despite the changes in their lives, these girls have remained incredibly sweet and affectionate. Lucy especially loves attention and enjoys spending time with her people, happily soaking up pets and companionship.

Lucy and Purd are a true bonded pair who rely on each other for comfort, so they must be adopted together. They are previously declawed and will need a strictly indoor-only home where they can feel safe and secure. They aren't big fans of other animals, so a foster period is recommended to help ensure a smooth transition.

Lucy is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated (rabies will need to be updated). If you're looking for a loving, gentle duo who will repay your kindness with endless affection, Lucy and Purd would make a wonderful addition to your family.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
