Lucy's Story

Meet Lucy, a little old lady with a whole lot of love left to give.

Lucy was rescued after being declawed, but despite everything she has been through, she has remained an incredibly loving and gentle companion. Her favorite place to be is simply near her people. Whether you’re working, studying, or relaxing on the couch, Grandma Lucy is perfectly content hanging out beside you and keeping you company.

Don’t let the “grandma” title fool you, though — Lucy still knows how to have fun! Her absolute favorite toy is a string wand, and she loves chasing it around when the mood strikes. Once playtime is over, she is more than happy to settle in for a nap, stretch out by the back door for a sunbathing session, or spend the afternoon watching birds outside.

Lucy has the sweetest soul with just the right amount of little old lady sass. If you aren’t petting her exactly the way she would prefer, she may politely let you know that your technique needs some improvement. At the end of the day, though, all she really wants is to be loved and to give that love right back.

She has not had experience with dogs while in her current foster home, but she has been slowly warming up to the resident cats. She has even started trying to play with one of them! Lucy also has a very sophisticated palate and is currently a devoted Churu enthusiast.

Like many grandmas, Lucy prefers to keep things a little closer to the ground and doesn’t enjoy jumping onto very high surfaces. She has also been working hard on rebuilding strength in her back legs and is making progress every day.

Lucy is looking for a comfortable, loving home where she can spend her days sunbathing, bird watching, playing with her favorite wand toy, enjoying plenty of Churus, and cuddling up beside someone who will adore her exactly as she deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly sassy little senior companion to keep you company, Lucy may be your perfect match.

Adoption fee is $65 and includes:
spay
age-appropriate vaccines
FIV/FeLV testing
flea/tick/heartworm prevention
microchipping
deworming

Our Mission
