Lucille's Story
My Friends at Wayside say:
-I'm bonded with my best friend Lucille and we MUST go home together!
-I’m shy at first but full of love!
-I am a social eater
-I enjoy watching videos
-I love treats of ALL kinds!

My home preferences (Restrictions):
-I would like a quiet home environment
-I will need extra time to warm up in a home
-Children in the home must be 6 and older

Well hello there! We are so excited to meet you! We are Lola and Lucille, and we are the best of friends. We are beautiful and have our own unique purr-sonalities. Lola is a dilute calico with golden green eyes and Lucille is a beautiful brown tabby with gold brown eyes. We are both a little over 5 years old, and we’ve been with each other our whole lives. We hope you understand why we have to be adopted together – we just love each other too much to lose each other.

We originally came to Wayside from a Texas Cat Transfer. To say that experience was scary would be an understatement. We were put in a kennel together and then driven 12 hours all the way to this place called "Wayside Waifs". They assured us that Wayside Waifs would help us find our forever home, together. We really tried to put brave faces forward, but we didn’t adjust well to the shelter. We were both so scared and would choose to hide most days. The staff and volunteers were so kind, but it’s hard to communicate what’s scary when you’re just a couple of cats. That’s when we met our foster mom! She had heard about us from some volunteers and our story just broke her heart. She wanted us to live in a house where we could learn about family, love, and the comfort of home. So, she scooped us up and told us we could stay with her until we found a family of our own! We are so grateful to her for her kindness.

Lola is the braver of the two of us. She enjoys being pet on her terms and she often can be found laying out in the sun with our foster mom. Lucille though, she’s the shyer of the two of us (although if I’m being honest we are both fairly timid). Lucille will often choose to hide away and only come out if Lola is out and about too. When we describe our personalities, we like to say that Lola is the hero and Lucille is the sidekick. We need each other, but we are very different kitties.

We were in foster for awhile, and were adopted! Unfortunately, our owner has passed away and we have found ourselves back at the shelter. We'd love to find a quiet home and patient owners to help us grieve and transition to a new home. We hope you have space in your heart to give us a fur-ever place to settle into!
