Love Bug's Story

Meet Love Bug-true to her name, she is full of love and affection. But Love Bug is more than just a sweetheart; she is a survivor. Having faced many challenges in her life so far, she has shown incredible strength and resilience. Now, Love Bug is ready to leave those trials behind and share her gentle heart with someone special. She is seeking a quiet, calm home where her affectionate nature can truly blossom, offering endless love, comfort, and loyal companionship in return.

Love Bug is a delightful kitten that suffered from a bracial plexus injury. This means that all the nerves going to one arm that controlled arm movement were damaged. Medication was unable to improve the nerve function after a few weeks, meaning the chances of the arm ever working normally again were very remote. The fact that she could not control the limb meant that it was easily damaged, and actively impeded her ability to move around. This leg was amputated mid-December and she has been healing well since.

Since this was caused by a sudden injury, there is no progressive aspect, and no additional nerve issues are anticipated. Lovebug is a very active and adaptable kitten, and has already acclimated to three legged movement since the injured leg has not worked for some time. She should be a fully functional inside pet, but never allowed to be free roaming outside.
