Louise's Story

At just six months old, Louise is a beautiful brown short-hair tabby with soft eyes and an even softer spirit. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped—ready for the day her forever family finds her.
But more important than any of those details is this: Louise comes as half of a pair. She is deeply bonded to her twin sister, Thelma, and the two girls must stay together. They are each other’s comfort, courage, and constant companion.
Although they are super sweet, friendly and affectionate; they do have one obstacle they are working to overcome.
Thelma and Louise were discovered as tiny orphan babies with their eyes barely open. They were lovingly cared for by a very senior woman with limited mobility. To keep them safe and where she could care for them, they were confined together inside a small 3×3 wire kennel until coming to Catmandu. Because they grew up in a cage, the world outside the bars of their cage feels big, unfamiliar and scary to them.
Since they arrived here about a week ago, we’ve been gently introducing the sisters to larger spaces, helping them build confidence one small step at a time.
Beneath their hesitation and uncertainty are two incredibly sweet, chatty, affectionate little souls who are just beginning to discover the joy of playing and exploring. Watching them learn how to simply be cats is nothing short of magical.
They seem to be okay with other friendly cats, but have never been around dogs. A canine friend would have to be super cat-friendly, calm, and gentle with them.
The girls are looking for a quiet, patient indoor-only home without small children—somewhere they can feel safe as they continue to venture into the world. With time, kindness, and love, these tender girls will reward their family with deep devotion and the quiet, beautiful trust that only rescued hearts can give.
If you believe in gentle beginnings and happy endings, Thelma and Louise are waiting to meet you. 💛
Please reach out if you are interested in learning more or meeting them.

Catmandu's Adoption Policy
Catmandu is located in Carson City, NV. We do not ship cats cross-country. You must be able to visit In person prior to adoption. We ask that all family members come to meet the cat, especially if there are children. Spay/neuter, shots to date, and deworming (if necessary) are included in our adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $100 for kittens under 1 year old; and $50 for adult cats. We strongly prefer to have adopters complete an application and make an appointment to meet the cats. Because we have an extremely small staff, this ensures that we will be able to give each potential adopter plenty of individual time and attention to help them select the perfect cat for their family and situation. It is very important to us that it is a good fit and the adoption is for the lifetime of the cat. Appointments are available Tuesday through Sunday.
