Lotus's Story

Meet Lotus 🌸

This beautiful girl isn’t new to us—this is actually her second time with our rescue.

Lotus was adopted from us as a tiny kitten about 8 years ago. Fast forward to early 2025, when we received a call from animal control saying they had found a cat with one of our microchips. When we looked up the information, we saw she had been adopted as a kitten and provided the adopter’s details.

Animal control told us the cat was in rough shape and said they would follow up with the adopter.

Just a few minutes later, they called back with heartbreaking news. The adopter said that Lotus had gotten out only two weeks after they adopted her, and they assumed she had died. They had moved on and were not interested in taking her back.

We have no idea what Lotus went through in the years between then and now, but when we picked her up, it was clear she hadn’t had an easy life.

She was extremely thin, had a severe head tilt, and would walk in circles. We rushed her to our RPAW Animal Wellness Center, where we discovered she had diabetes and a severe inner ear infection. She was immediately started on treatment for both and moved into a loving foster home.

Since then, it has been incredible watching Lotus bloom into the wonderful cat she is today.

She LOVES people and she LOVES food (a lot 😄). She will likely always have a slight head tilt, and when she gets really excited she may circle a bit—but she’s doing so much better and her joyful personality shines through.

Lotus does well with other cats and small dogs, and she loves to play and enjoy catnip.

Now all she needs is the one thing she’s been missing all these years:
a forever home that will truly keep her safe and loved.

Adoption fee: waived

Adoption applications available at rpaw.org.
