Lorax's Story

Being adopted can be fun! I’m Lorax, one of six kittens who came to Paws and Claws in 2023. I was adopted quickly, but my stay in my home was just over two years. I was abandoned outside the front door of the shelter in a carrier, and now I am hoping that my next home really will be forever. I’m a very sweet 3-year-old tabby girl who loves being petted and held. I like to play some, but since returning to the shelter, I have been pretty laid back. Dr. Seuss fans may remember his book, “The Lorax.” In it, The Lorax says, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.". There are tons of animals in need of homes. Thanks to caring people like you, many of us do live happily ever after in loving homes. Love to the max! Paws and Claws Humane Society's Adoption Policy

IMPORTANT UPDATE Although our shelter is open to potential adopters during the viewing hours listed on this page, Paws and Claws prefers to schedule viewings and adoptions by appointment. To make an appointment to meet and adopt one of the companion animals on our Website, we ask that you fill out an online application. Potential adopters can either click on the ADOPTION APPLICATION link on the right side of this page, or visit our Website at pawsandclaws.org and go to the "Willing to Adopt a Pet" section, then select the orange "Adoption Form" box. This will allow you to access the Adoption Guidelines and Application Form. After reading the Adoption Guidelines, either complete the online adoption form and return it to us, or print the Adoption Form, fill in the required information, sign it, and email it back to us via info@pawsandclaws.org. You may list up to four animals that you would like to meet. We review the emails every day. We will process all applications in the order that they are received and then once your application has been approved, we will contact you and set up an appointment for you to meet the animal(s) and if possible, do the adoption on the same day you come in.
