Lolly's Story
** $95 in pledges for the rescue that pulls **

Lolly ACCT-A-237037 is an approximately 7-year-old neutered male cat who came in as an owner surrender due to his owner being hospitalized.

Behavior:
On 12/31 staff noted: "Lolly would be a good working cat candidate."

On 12/31 staff noted: "Lolly is a very nervous guy. He really seems like a cat that does not enjoy human company. Lolly is getting less afraid of his friends at the shelter, but, he immediately tenses when his kennel door is open.

Lolly is definitely not confrontational. Any time he has had to be handled, he prefers to run over biting and scratching. It's unclear the degree to which Lolly lived inside his owner's home--it's possible he was an outdoor cat that was diligently looked after, but we don't have lots of information to go on.

Lolly may come around as an indoor pet, but we think he would also do well as a working cat, where he would be able to roam and hide, while choosing just how much interaction with humans he wants."

On 12/22 staff noted: "12/21 PM: Visited Lolly to see how he was adjusting to the new kennel he was moved to. Like previously, he preferred trying to make himself as small and unseen in his litter box; didn't solicit attention; and when raising his head, looked at me with wide eyes and ears down / to the side. I tested how tolerant of touch he was using an extendable cat scratcher scented with catnip. This he sniffed briefly when presented with it, but smooshed his head back into the corner of his litterbox afterwards, not raising it again for the rest of the interaction. He tolerated very gentle pets with the scratcher between the ears and on his upper neck over the course of a few minutes, ears remaining upright, breathing seeming to remain regular, no vocalizing, but not soliciting further attention."

On 12/3 staff noted: "Bit staff 11/29, updating review date to 12/9"

On 12/2 staff noted: "Hard to medicate - Need shield guard to medicate and bit syringe enough to puncture and bend it in half."

On 11/14 staff noted: "TTA- due to scared, will run when you open cage, dilated pupils, growling tense body. starting meds."

Video:
Lolly
https://youtube.com/shorts/D-98fuR2iEs

ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
