LOCAL KITTENS, Whisky, Bourbon, Brandy and Sherry's Story

THE LITTLE SPIRITS: This adorable litter of kittens, two males and two females, arrived at the shelter just last week, on the last day of September, in an explosion of glorious autumn colors! Whisky (M), Bourbon (M), Sherry (F) and Brandy (F) are around 11–12 weeks old, and are all very sweet, friendly, and affectionate kittens. They LOVE to be held — if we are sitting at the cage and cuddling one, another will push the cage door open and climb right out to pile on, and next thing you know, there is a puddle of purring fur in your lap. We’re just starting to engage them in play — they seem curious and interested, but are more eager to explore the cat room, and check out every nook and cranny. They are available for adoption individually, or in pairs, if you’re interested in litter mates.

The kittens can go leave the shelter later in the week of October 5 — we will keep an eye on them a few more days, just to ensure they are as healthy as they appear to be. They will do very well in a home with other cats — they are already socialized to adult cats and have shown proper respect to the other shelter cats. They should adjust to living with a dog as well, as long as the dog is not aggressive towards smaller creatures. The kittens will thrive in the humans of all ages, including very young children.

The kittens have not yet seen a vet or been tested, as they are too young for spay/neuter, but they have received flea treatments and dewormers. Adoption fee is $25 per kitten, plus a state-mandated $100 spay/neuter deposit, which is fully refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. Adopter assumes all medical costs. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” No cash is accepted.

For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We prefer to schedule kitten visitors, as space in our kitten playroom is limited, so please do CALL before visiting to coordinate your visit, and to make sure the kitten you are interested in is still available. And please call before visiting on Saturday, October 10 — as of posting, we’re not sure of the holiday weekend hours.

You can also access a downloadable application by clicking this link, or by going to the Town of Scituate’s Animal Control page and scrolling down to the link to the Cat Adoption Form:
https://www.scituateri.gov/departments/animal_control/index.php

Or copy and paste the following into your browser: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/townofscituate/scituate%20ri%20cat%20adopt%20form%20rev%200922.pdf

Please email all PDF applications to ClayvilleCritters@cox.net for faster processing.
