LOCAL KITTENS, Toby and Loretta's Story
DARLING DUO: Toby and Loretta, two precious tiger kittens, are now available to perform their preciousness in your home! They are approximately 13 weeks old, came to the shelter in the last couple of weeks, very timid and frightened, but quickly responded to our comfort and cuddling. Toby is very affectionate with all his human friends, wants nothing more than to climb on your lap and purr nonstop. Loretta is a little more timid than Toby, as she came in a week after her brother did, but once you pick her up and offer her just the slightest bit of love, she’s a puddle of purrs, just like Toby. Both kittens are now very playful, and especially enjoy chasing a ribbon wand toy around the playroom.

We are hoping to find someone interested in taking both kittens, but we won’t make them wait too long to find a home together, so we will also entertain inquiries from people who are interested in just one of the kittens. Both kittens should adjust very well to homes with other pets, both cats and dogs — as long as your dog is disciplined and not aggressive towards small creatures. They will also adapt well to children of all ages, though very small children will need supervision and will need to understand that the kittens will be timid in a new home and will need a little time to adapt. But the more you handle them and play with them, the faster they will adapt!

The kittens have not yet seen a vet or been tested, as they are too young for spay/neuter. Adoption fee per kitten is $25 to cover basic costs at the shelter, plus a state-mandated $100 spay/neuter deposit, which is fully refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. Adopter assumes all medical costs. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” No cash is accepted.

For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We prefer to schedule kitten visitors, as space in our kitten playroom is limited, so please do CALL before visiting to coordinate your visit, and to make sure the kitten you are interested in is still available.

You can also access a downloadable application by clicking this link, or by going to the Town of Scituate’s Animal Control page and scrolling down to the link to the Cat Adoption Form:
https://www.scituateri.gov/departments/animal_control/index.php

Or copy and paste the following into your browser: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/townofscituate/scituate%20ri%20cat%20adopt%20form%20rev%200922.pdf

Please email all PDF applications to ClayvilleCritters@cox.net for faster processing.
