LOCAL KITTENS! The Spring Blooms's Story

THE SPRING BLOOMS ARE HERE! Three little female flowers, available for adoption in the next week… Pansy, Periwinkle and Petunia! All three are friendly, playful, and sweet, and easy to handle when they’re not running and hopping around playing with each other or with their toys. Pansy, the medium-haired black kitty, is the boldest and most outgoing. Petunia, the short-haired black kitty, is the sweetest, a little bit shy when she first meets someone new. And Periwinkle, the tiger, is right in between! They will make great additions to just about any type of home, one with people of all ages, and homes with other cats. Though they haven’t yet met any dogs at the shelter, kittens this age usually adjust very well to having a canine companion, provided the dog is not too hyperactive or aggressive towards small creatures. They are available for adoption individually, or as litter mates, if you prefer!

They are about 4.5 months old now, but have not yet received vaccinations, nor have they been spayed. As females, they need not be spayed until they are at least six months of age, or even older. Adopters will be required to have their vaccinations and spay surgery done. They have received flea/tick treatments and dewormers, and are eating very well! Adoption fee is $25 per kitten, in addition to a state-mandated $100 spay deposit. The surgery deposit is fully refundable when proof of spaying is submitted to the shelter. Fees may be paid by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” R.I. residents may also pay by check, but out-of-state checks are not accepted. No cash is accepted.

For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours this week, Tuesday through Friday, 7 to 11 am. Private appointments may be scheduled for the morning of Saturday, April 4 (the shelter is otherwise closed to visitors that day). Please call before visiting to make sure the kittens are still available — walk-ins are strongly discouraged, as we prefer to schedule all kitten visits. A completed application will be required.

You can also access a downloadable application by clicking this link, or by going to the Town of Scituate’s Animal Control page and scrolling down to the link to the Cat Adoption Form:
https://www.scituateri.gov/departments/animal_control/index.php

Or copy and paste the following into your browser: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/townofscituate/scituate%20ri%20cat%20adopt%20form%20rev%200922.pdf

Please email all PDF applications to ClayvilleCritters@cox.net for faster processing.
