LOCAL CAT, Hamilton's Story

HAMILTON arrived at the shelter in mid-August and had to wait a few weeks to see the vet, but now he has joined the other cats in the adoptable cat room, and we are very happy to finally be able to get to know this young tiger boy. He’s sweet and a tiny bit shy, but he is also curious and has been exploring the cat room and introducing himself to the volunteers and the other cats in our care. He does a happy little dance when we approach him, gets up off his bed and makes biscuits, performs an adorable “please love me” pirouette as he makes his biscuits, and then, tenderly and tentatively, steps out onto a lap to get some love and kisses. He’s already become a shelter darling, in a very short time! Hammie is submissive to the other cats he’s met, and is already very fond of another submissive male cat, so he should make a good companion for another cat, and should be fine living with a dog that is accustomed to cats. He’ll also make a great friend for humans of all ages, including very young children.

Hamilton is estimated to be 2 years old, is neutered, box-trained, current on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and received de-wormers and flea treatments. Adoption fee is $125. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” No cash is accepted.

For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can also access a downloadable application by clicking this link, or by going to the Town of Scituate’s Animal Control page and scrolling down to the link to the Cat Adoption Form:
https://www.scituateri.gov/departments/animal_control/index.php

Or copy and paste the following into your browser: https://cms5.revize.com/revize/townofscituate/scituate%20ri%20cat%20adopt%20form%20rev%200922.pdf

Please email all PDF applications to ClayvilleCritters@cox.net for faster processing.
