Little Girl's Story

A once-terror to behold, Little Girl has come a loooooong way! Who would’ve thought that this spicy little creature, who in the past was ready to claw your eyes out if you much as brushed against the blanket she chose to sit on (most inconveniently situated in the middle of the hallway), would now be following you down the same hallway begging for rubs under the chin!?! You coulda fooled me!

Nowadays Little Girl can usually be found on the aforementioned blanket/in a basket/rolling around with a catnip mouse (the more realistic the better!) all in the middle of the hallway, or napping in her little rattan egg chair- however, her new thing has been locating the hidden Temptations cat treats, knocking them down, and vacuuming up as many as she can before a staff member runs to salvage what they can of this most valuable resource.

As Little Girl has learned to let her guard down, we’ve seen just how much she craves your undivided attention (and Temptations Catnip Flavor Mixups!), and how ready she is for the chance to have a home and person of her own . Little Girl still struggles with anxiety in some situations (a lot of it likely stemming from her limited vision along with her need for personal space) and is currently taking Gabapentin to help ease this- we feel it has helped tremendously! For Little Girl to thrive and be given the chance she’s always deserved, we think a home where she is only pet might be best.

Little Girl is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and Heartworm/FeLV/FiV tested ! As you might be able to tell, Little Girl struggles and has likely struggled all her life with feline herpesvirus (it is, it’s presumed, what’s led her to have some cloudiness in her eyes and limited her vision). Feline Herpesvirus causes her to have watery discharge from her eyes with the occasional crust that she needs assistance in cleaning off,- but caution, she still struggles with anxiety when handling her face in this manner, and can lash out if you spend too much time trying to wipe her off- we’ve all learned this lesson the hard way, lol.
