Lionel's Story

LIONEL (R) and SARGE (L) are a pair of bonded brown tabby male kitties that make the cutest odd couple; Lionel is an energetic young adult who loves to run around and chase toys and strings, and Sarge is his sweet “big brother” who loves to hang out and cuddle with Lionel. They are both highly social, loving, and outgoing, and are so much fun to have around. Lionel is bouncy, funny, and entertaining, and Sarge is a bundle of love and affection – a gentle giant who likes everyone he meets (other cats, dogs, and people). Sarge is diabetic and requires insulin twice a day, and has some other chronic health conditions--but he is easy to care for. Sarge’s foster parents will help guide his new family on his medical care. He is also on a prescription diet for one of his two daily meals. Both cats are good with dogs and gentle kids, but this bonded pair will do best as the only cats in the household. Sarge and Lionel will bring tremendous joy to their new forever home!

LIONEL and SARGE have both been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, are negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet them in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 days for a possible meet and greet. The adoption fee for the pair is $185, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. Our goal is to help you find a cat that suits your household, lifestyle and personality. You should begin by viewing our available homeless companions on this website. If you are in the neighborhood, you are more than welcome to drop by one of our adoption centers to view available animals. Our adoption centers are located in both PetSmart stores, and Wags! Dog Emporium. Feel free to call us at 541-225-4955 (option 1 for cats) and leave us your contact information and which specific companion animal or general animal type you are interested in and we’ll arrange to have you meet your potential new friend. The adoption fee includes: - Spay or neuter - Microchip - Cats and kittens are tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS FVRCP (upper respiratory/distemper) vaccine - Rabies vaccine - Checked and treated for ear mites if necessary - Free initial vet exam visit (with participating veterinary clinics) CRAN provides superb care for the animals in our shelters and foster homes and makes a reasonable effort to provide healthy companion animals to adopters, but nevertheless, CRAN cannot be responsible for veterinary bills or treatment of an animal after leaving our shelter. If they have not been adopted together after a lengthy period of time, they may be allowed to be adopted separately.
