Linus's Story
Hi, I'm Linus, a handsome short haired Lynx Point Siamese male, born approximately 10/15/2010. I'll be upfront with you; I'm not the kind of cat who's going to win you over in five minutes. I take time, and need patience, and someone who understands that trust is something I earn slowly. Changes are hard on me. But if you're willing to meet me where I am, I promise there's a deeply loving, loyal companion underneath it all.
For most of my life, I had one person, my person. I was devoted to her. When life changed and my world became bigger and busier, I struggled. I've learned that I do best in a calm, predictable home, ideally with one or two experienced adults who will respect my space and let me come to them on my own terms. I can be protective of my territory, and if I feel overwhelmed or approached too quickly, I may react. I'll always give a warning first (a hiss is my way of saying "please slow down"), but I need someone who understands and respects that communication. Because of this, I'm not a fit for homes with dogs or young children, and I'd be happiest in a quieter, consistent household.
Now here's the part people don't always get to see right away: once I trust you, I'm a softie! I enjoy snuggling and will happily crawl into your lap. I enjoy being near my person, and I'll even tolerate being picked up, for a little while, anyway. Treats are one of my love languages (I'm not picky!), and I might even try to sneak a bite of your ice cream if you're not careful. I enjoy the simple things, dangly toys, feathers, catnip, and a good cardboard scratcher. Give me a sunny window or a safe outdoor space like a catio, and I'll be in heaven. I've lived my whole life with my sister, Lulu. We can be adopted together or separately. I might even do well on my own, where I can relax and not feel the need to share my space. If you're patient, understanding, and the cat savvy person I'm looking for, I might be your guy. I'd like to be your companion who will truly bond with you over time. If so, please fill out an adoption application at www.wbcats.org/adopt.
