Lily's Story

Meet Oliver and Lily, a beautiful 1-year-old sibling duo who truly offer the best of both worlds! This wonderful pair has been waiting for the right home, and they are so ready to bring their special bond to a patient forever family. Oliver is a handsome, high-energy boy who absolutely loves to be right in the middle of the action. He is a professional lap-warmer with a wonderfully soft purr, though his enthusiasm means he can sometimes get a little over-excited when he's having fun! Because he can occasionally give a tiny "love nibble" when he gets overstimulated, his adopters should be familiar with reading cat body language. You might also notice a unique, charming little dark speck in his right eye that just adds to his handsome look! While Oliver is the social butterfly of the pair, petite Lily is his quiet shadow. Both siblings spent their early months as strays, but Lily is simply a bit slower to trust people and lacks her brother's natural confidence. She relies heavily on brave Oliver for comfort and security, but the wonderful news is that she has been growing less timid and making steady progress! Because building a bond with her is a gradual process, potential adopters should plan to visit them a couple of times at the shelter to start earning her trust. Patience is truly the key to Lily's heart, but the reward is completely worth it--once they know you, both Oliver and Lily happily enjoy gentle pets. We truly feel that once Lily is settled into her forever home, her confidence will blossom completely. Just keep in mind that while they are settling in during the day, these two youngsters still have plenty of adolescent fun in them--their future family should be prepared for some pretty epic kitty zoomies in the middle of the night! To help this duo thrive, they need a calm, predictable home environment. A busy or loud household would be overwhelming for Lily, but a peaceful sanctuary is exactly what she needs to keep making great strides. For this reason, if there are children in the home, they should be at least 12 years old and know how to respect a cat's boundaries. They would also likely do well with a gentle, cat-friendly dog or a fun, playful resident cat who can match their energy. With a patient family and Oliver by her side to show her the ropes, Lily will feel safe enough to let her own gentle spirit truly shine. Oliver and Lily are ready to find their people! Their combined pair adoption fee is $450.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats.
