Lilac's Story

Together with her bonded brother Levi (see additional listing), Lilac was abandoned at a local apartment complex. The two lived outside together for at least several months.

A neighbor fed the two while looking for their owner, but no one claimed them. Animal House Rescue became involved when the temps were dangerously cold. She and Levi transitioned to indoor life by living in a garage for a few weeks until they weren’t afraid of being inside anymore. Now they are working on feeling safe around adults and other pets. They are being fostered in an adult household, so it’s unknown how they’d be around children.

Lilac is hesitant around new people. She can be handled at this point, and she will tell you when she’s had enough. She is litterbox trained and is working on feeling less scared in the house and around other pets.

She and Levi (her presumed littermate) have been through the wringer together and need to go to the same home. They need someone patient who wants the reward of bringing two kitties back out of their shells. Lilac has come a long way in trusting people, but still has a long way to go. The reward is worth the wait, though. She’s a sweet girl.

Vet notes: Lilac was spayed on 2/12/2025. The vet estimated her to be two years old. She weighs 7.4 lbs. She got the FVRCP vaccine (Feline Rhinothracheitis / Feline Calicivirus). She is negative for feline leukemia virus, feline immunodeficiency virus, and heartworm negative. She had dewormer and flea/tick preventive treatment on 2/2/2025. She still needs a rabies vaccine.
