Licorice 's Story
Licorice came to us as part of our Trap, Neuter, Release program, in which community members trap feral cats from local colonies, we spay or neuter them and release them back into their home colony in an effort to decrease the local feral cat population. However, we quickly realized that Licorice wasn’t feral, he was just terrified. Licorice has never swatted, lunged or tried to bite, however he still is scared of people and when our staff comes to his cage he will still on occasion cower in the corner afraid of what is going to happen next. Despite all of this, he is starting to come around at his own pace. We have found that he likes to be pet and is very tolerant of being handled/picked up.

We believe that Licorice would do well in a home that understands his needs. He needs someone patient and kind and willing to go at his pace until he feels comfortable and confident in his surroundings. He will need time to understand that he is safe and loved. Of course, we will continue to work with him as best as we can but we do believe that a home would be the best option for Licorice’s development. If you’re willing to wait a bit, love will come to you in the form of a black furball named Licorice.

********************************************************************************************************

If you would like to meet Licorice or any of our cats available for adoption, please email ahrkittenrescue@gmail.com for more information and an application. A staff member will be in touch ASAP. Our kitty meet & greets are done by appointment only.

Our cats live with us here at our very busy animal hospital (a limited amount are fostered). We do not have a shelter but do our best with the space we have. Our adoption team will review your application and call references to determine the perfect future home for each of our cats. We have multiple cats that we are taking care of and working to get adopted.

All our cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, FELV/FIV negative and micro-chipped prior to adoption unless otherwise stated. Please view our adoption fees and policies for our cats.

Most of our cats have never met dogs or children of any age or size. We recommend a slow introduction process for children, dogs and other cats to help for a smooth transition into your home. All our new kitty parents are sent home with additional information on this process. You can also visit the www.ASPCA.com for additional information on this process.

Animal Hospital of Richboro cannot offer any promises on the age, health, or temperament of any pet.
