Licorice 's Story
Meet Licorice, a stunning 4‑year‑old black beauty (estimated birthday 1/1/2022) with just the right amount of diva flair. She knows what she likes, she knows what she doesn’t like, and she’s ready to find a home that appreciates her fabulousness.

Licorice’s Story

Licorice has been through more than she lets on. Originally adopted from another rescue, she was left in the care of a friend when her adopter moved. That friend put her outside to fend for herself—something this girl absolutely did not deserve. Thankfully, one of our volunteers found her and brought her into foster care until we had space at the shelter.

Once she arrived, we noticed her occasionally growling at her own tail, which led us to discover it had been broken at some point in the past. Her tail has long since healed, however, she does experience phantom pain from time to time.

Who Licorice Is

Licorice is social and enjoys being petted, but she also carries herself with the confidence of a cat who knows she’s royalty. She can be a diva in the most charming way—she enjoys attention, but on her terms, and she appreciates a home that respects her boundaries.

The Home She’ll Thrive In

Licorice does well with other cats who respect her space, but she draws a firm line at dogs—absolutely no dogs for this girl. She’ll shine in a quiet home, ideally with no young children, though older kids who understand boundaries are perfectly fine.

She has a desire for a calm, loving environment where she can be her confident, elegant self.

Her Ideal Match

Someone who appreciates a cat with personality. Someone who will let her be the diva she was born to be. Someone who understands that a little attitude just means she knows her worth.

Due to her phantom pain, she needs someone dedicated to monitoring it and willing to work with a vet on managing that phantom pain if ever needed.

Licorice is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and Fiv/felv negative.
