Lexie's Story

My sister Lacy and I were rescued from a deep, dirty window well at an apartment complex in Southeast D.C. Our mom apparently put us there for safekeeping, but we were struggling to survive, as there wasn’t enough food for all of us and our little bodies were covered in fleas and flea dirt. Fortunately, Rock Creek Cats took us indoors, cleaned us up and started giving us lots of tasty food. We’re a bonded pair and would prefer to be adopted together. (I am the darker kitten.) Besides eating, we enjoy cuddling, scattering our toys and beds, and climbing. We’ve been spayed and vaccinated, so we’re looking for someone who has enough room, time and energy for both of us.

Our main activity is helping outdoor, unadoptable (feral/wild) cats through what's known as Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): humanely trapping them, getting them spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and returning them to ...
